Boards & Commissions

The City Council of the City of Woodland Park is authorized by Section 5.2 of the Charter to establish, amend and abolish Advisory and Appeal Boards or Commissions as necessary.  All such Boards and Commissions operate in accordance with adopted rules of procedures and prescribed duties delegated by the City Council.

Board and Commission members must have been residents of the City for not less than one year at time of appointment unless otherwise provided for in Section 5 of the Charter.  All Board and Commission members serve without compensation

Board and Commission meetings are open to the public and copies of all records and minutes are available for inspection at City Hall.

DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY BOARD OF DIRECTORS OPENING

   

The City Council of the City of Woodland Park is accepting applications from persons who are interested in serving as a member on the City's Downtown Development Authority Board of Directors.  Three terms on this Board expire on June 30, 2013.     Interested applicants must reside, be a business lessee, or own real property in the Downtown Development District in the City of Woodland Park.  In addition, an officer or director of a corporation having its place of business in the District is also eligible to serve on this Board.  Applicants must be available for meetings when called, and usually in the morning.  The terms of office for these positions will expire June 30, 2017.

COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE VACANCY

The City Council of the City of Woodland Park is accepting applications from persons who are interested in serving as a member on the Community Advisory Committee for the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG), located in Colorado Springs.   This committee provides citizen input on planning matters related to the mission of PPACG.   It is composed of citizens appointed by the general governments in the Colorado Springs urban planning area, an at-large membership and representatives of community-based organizations.   Committee meetings are held on the last Wednesday of the month at 3PM at the PPACG office in Colorado Springs.

PERSONNEL MERIT BOARD VACANCIES


The City Council of the City of Woodland Park is accepting applications from persons who are interested in serving as a member on the City's Personnel Merit Board. Interested applicants must be registered electors; reside within the City limits; and hold no other appointive or elective municipal office during their tenure on this Board. This Board meets on an as-needed basis to hear and determine appeals by any aggrieved City employee who has been subjected to disciplinary action of any kind. The term of office for these positions is 1 for one year; 1 for two years; and 1 for three years.

The City Council of the City of Woodland Park is accepting applications from persons who are interested in serving as a member on the City's Planning Commission. There are currently two openings on this commission. Interested applicants for this position must be a City resident for a minimum of one year prior to appointment and be available to meet on the second and fourth Thursday evenings of each month. The term of office for these positions will expire on January 1, 2016.

The City Council of the City of Woodland Park is accepting applications from persons who are interested in serving as an Alternate member on the City's Board of Adjustment. Two Alternate Member positions are currently vacant. Interested applicants must be residents of the City of Woodland Park for at least one year and be available to meet in the evening on the third Monday of each month. The term of office for one of these vacancies will expire on January 1, 2014 and the other will expire on January 1, 2015.

KEEP WOODLAND PARK BEAUTIFUL COMMITTEE

 

The City Council of the City of Woodland Park is accepting applications from persons interested in serving as a member on the City's Keep Woodland Park Beautiful Committee. There are a total eight positions open at this time. Three of those positions are for residents of Teller County and the remaining five positions are for City residents or property owners/leasers. All interested applicants must be available to meet on the first Monday evening of each month.
