Chief Larson
Chief Bob Larson became a WPPD officer in 1979.
Prior to that time he spent 8 years as an Army MP working in
corrections, patrol, investigations, administration, and military
operations. At WPPD he previously served as a Patrol Officer,
Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, and Support Services
Lieutenant. He was appointed Chief in 1999. Larson graduated from
Regis
University with a B.S. in Business Administration.
Chief Larson has had specialized training in police administration, risk management, human resources management, training adult learners, criminal investigations, DUI enforcement, weapons instruction, patrol tactics, emergency operations, domestic violence, child abuse investigations, and law enforcement technology. He is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the Colorado Association of Chiefs of Police. He serves as an assessor for law enforcement agencies seeking CACP accreditation.
