Duties

The City Clerk is the Clerk of the Council and attends all meetings of the Council. The City Clerk keeps a permanent journal of the Council’s proceedings and records, in full, all ordinances, motions and resolutions. The City Clerk is also the custodian of the City seal as well as all papers, documents and records pertaining to the City.

The City Clerk, in conjunction with the State of Colorado, is responsible for the licensing and regulation of liquor establishments within the City limits.

Elections

The City Clerk is the designated election official for the City of Woodland Park. Municipal elections are held the first Tuesday after the first Monday in April in even numbered years. In addition, citizen initiated recalls, initiatives and referendums are submitted to the City Clerk and verified for sufficiency and special elections are scheduled and held as necessary.

Risk Management

The City Clerk is the Risk Manager for the City of Woodland Park, and is responsible for property casualty and worker’s compensation claims.
