By paying the fine instead of appearing in Court, you give up your legal rights and you plead Guilty to the offense(s) charged. Penalty points may be assessed against your driving record by the Department of Motor Vehicles DMV. If you do not want to plead guilty, do not pay the fine and appear in court at the date and time listed on the front of your summons.
Court Costs of $20 will be applied to all payments made on or after the Court date. Failure to pay by the Court date or failure to appear in Court on the Court date could result in a Bench Warrant being issued for your arrest for Court ordered appearances and you could be taken into custody at any time.
On payable offenses only, failure to pay by the court date or failure to appear on the court date will result in a default judgment being entered, court costs being assessed, reporting of points to the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles and additional charges may apply. If you have any questions at all about your Summons, please contact the Court via telephone at 719-687-5207.
