Home and Business Safety Door Hangers
The Woodland Park Police Department is initiating a program to partner with the community to keep the community better informed of safe practices. The Woodland Park Police Department officers, when either reported or noticed while out on patrol, will be distributing door hangers identifying something that is potentially or noticeably unsafe. The hanger will have details on the reason for contact or check by the officer, including but not limited to:
- Open door or garage door
- Cracked, faulty, or open windows
- Vehicle doors left open, or noticeably unlocked
- Vehicle windows open
- Valuables left in plain sight
- Unsecured bicycles
- Broken or unlit exterior lights
- Barking dogs
- Audible alarms
The door hangers will always include when the officer responded and why, as well as have their card for you to contact them with any questions or concerns. On the back of each hanger, the Woodland Park Police Department has included tips for residents and businesses on crime prevention, fire prevention and mitigation, deterring unwanted wildlife, as well as sites that provide in depth information on keeping you, and the community, safe. These door hangers are not enforcement actions, rather information provided to get resident's and business' attention to safety concerns that could potentially lead to victimization or danger.
Each citizen in the community is essential in preventing crime by reporting suspicious or dangerous activity, following simple crime prevention tips, and communicating with the Woodland Park Police Department. Your involvement makes a difference!
The Woodland Park Police Department has also put up this page including numerous tips for crime prevention for homes, persons, and businesses. Click any of the images below to get more information about the subject, and tips to prevent becoming a victim of crime.
At any time, you can contact the Woodland Park Police Department for more information, help, or if your situation is not included in the information on the hangers or links below. The Woodland Park Police Department is excited to be partnering with the community to make the city an elevated place to live, work, and play.
