At the July 7, 2022 Regular City Council Meeting, the City Council approved Ordinance No. #1426, Series 2022, an ordinance imposing a temporary moratorium prohibiting the submission, acceptance, processing, and approval of applications for short-term rental licenses.
The City of Woodland Park will no longer accept applications for new STR licenses after 11:59 PM, Sunday, July 17. Applications may be submitted up to that time. Please note that while online applications for new licenses can be submitted up until that time, applications submitted in-person at City Hall must be received by Friday, July 15, at 4 PM.
Applications for business licenses for short-term rentals received after these dates will not be processed.
This moratorium has NO IMPACT on existing short-term rentals in Woodland Park. Short-term rental owners that currently hold a business license in the City of Woodland Park can continue to operate as normal.
What happens next? The moratorium will remain in place for 90 days. The City will continue to engage the community and work toward a resolution on the topic of short-term rentals. A joint work session between the Planning Commission and the City Council is scheduled for July 21, 2022 to discuss the topic and assess next steps.
