At the September 15 City Council meeting, Chief Deisler presented the "Chief's Award of Excellence" to a citizen, Christopher Hoffman, who assisted an on-duty officer who blew her tire on highway 24. "This young man, without due concern for anything else, ran out of his residence, met her on the side of highway 24...and changed her tire for her," said the Chief while presenting the award to Mr.Hoffman.
Chief Deisler also presented the Award of Excellence to Corporal Courtney Ledvina, Officer Patrick Vigil, and Dispatcher Lisa Ivey for their collaborative efforts finding an escaped mental health patient in Woodland Park within just 14 minutes of receiving a "Be On the Lookout" (BOLO) from the Colorado State Mental Hospital.
