City of Woodland Park Special Election

Woodland Park has been grappling with the regulation of Short-Term Rentals (STRs) for nearly two years. December 12, 2023, will mark a significant milestone and crucial moment in the ongoing process, as our community prepares to cast their votes in a Special Election. We have compiled the most important data to prepare you to make an informed vote.


Special Election 2023 - Key Information: 

The culmination of years of work and legislation will come to a head on December 12, 2023, when the community will cast their votes during the Special Election. Here are important details for Woodland Park voters to ensure a confident trip to the polls:

  1. Special Election Date: Tuesday, December 12, 2023
  2. UACOVA Ballots Mailed: Tuesday, October 24, 2023
  3. UACOVA Ballots Due Returned By: December 19, 2023
  4. City of Woodland Park Ballots Mailed: Week of November 20, 2023
  5. Ballots will be received by mail to all City of Woodland Park residents living inside City limits who are registered to vote.

The Ballot:

On the ballot, you'll find two questions that share some similarities but have distinguishable differences. If you find yourself needing additional resources and voter support, the Woodland Park Special City Election Blue Book is a valuable resource for voters. This bi-partisan, non-biased reference guide, developed in collaboration between City Council and representatives of the Citizen's Initiative group, and published by the Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce, will further clarify the two questions on the ballot, explain what a  “YES” or “NO” vote means for each in greater detail. On the ballot, you will find two questions. These two questions share some similarities and will require voters to read carefully to ensure they are making an informed choice. Returning Your Ballot:

Registered voters can return their ballots one of three ways:

  1. Ballots can be hand-delivered to City Hall by visiting during regular business hours of 7:30AM-5PM Monday-Thursday and 7:3 AM-4PM Fridays. Simply visit the receptionist's desk with your completed ballot!
  2. Ballots can be dropped off to the 24/7 secured ballot box located outside City Hall Chambers. This box is securely locked and monitored. Ballots will be accepted through 7pm on December 12, 2023.
  3. Ballots can be returned by mail. To mail your ballot, ensure it is completed, sealed, and has postage. Ballots must be RECEIVED by December 12, 2023. Please plan accordingly for mail delays.
