Woodland Swim Academy is back! You can register for swim sessions here. We have opened up Private Family Swim Instruction. One of our trained instructors will guide your family participants (up to 4 household members) through swim skills and benchmarks appropriate for their skill level. Each lesson will be 30 minutes long with 15 minutes of free swim at the end.
Under normal circumstances, we do honor the Silver Sneakers program. However, we are not accepting Silver Sneakers at this time.
We understand that some of our customers are not comfortable using online registration systems. However, it is important that you are able to use it, as we will be utilizing it for the time being. With short staff, it will be the best way for you to see availability in real time, make reservations, and track what you’re signed up for. If you need help, run into an error, or just want us to walk you through it, please call 719 687 5233 and leave a message. We have also created this step by step video for how to register.
We do not have a dedicated front desk person at this time due to limited staffing and hours of operation. Please leave a voicemail! Our guards and staff check the voicemails periodically throughout the day and make return phone calls. We can not call you back without your name and phone number, so please don’t forget to leave a voicemail.
Yes! If you already have a punch pass, annual pass, or three month pass, you can use these for lap lane and open swim reservations. When choosing your rate type, choose the "Passholder" option. If it says "ineligible", please call 719 687 5225 so we can put an account flag on your account. You can purchase new passes through our Activities Portal.
Daily Entry Passes can be purchased on site at the Woodland Aquatic Center.

We recommend showing up as swim ready as possible to make the most of your reservation. When you arrive at the facility, line up outside the main entrance. When your time slot starts, a staff member will open the door and check in each group. Watch our Check-In walkthrough video for more info!
The Locker Rooms and Family Changing Areas are open for public use. We still recommend that you come as swim ready as you can. Lockers are available for monthly rentals, however, you must provide your own lock. Talk to our Aquatic staff for more information.
To register for classes or programs online, you must have an account set up with the Parks and Recreation Department. If not, please call our office at 719-687-5225 so that we an set one up for you. After setting up an account, you can visit our Parks and Recreation portal to register.
Cancellations can be found on our website, social media (Facebook) or by calling our cancellation line at 719-687-5296.
To make a reservation, please use our online Reservation Portal. If you do not already have an account, you will need to create an account. Choose the park you want to reserve under the "Facility Rentals" tab, and the dates you would like to reserve it. Add it to your cart and check out. We will receive your reservation in our inbox, and approve or deny it. If it is denied we will reach out to you via the phone number you provide. Once it is approved, you will need to log back in and pay the full amount due to hold your reservation.

Yes. The city offices will open to the public beginning May 4, observing all 6 foot social distancing requirement. We are encouraging visitors to set appointments and to wear masks. Remember, we can always help you with questions and registrations via phone or email during business hours.

Yes. We will add the months back to your three month or annual pass after we have firm reopen date. If you have a pass that is set to expire before we reopen please do not worry. Again, we will add that time back and your pass will have a new expiration date.

Sign permits are required for most signs in Woodland Park. The City adopted a new sign code on April 1, 2010 (PDF). Please consult the sign code and the educational brochures below for guidance on when permits are required and what is allowed in terms of types and sizes of signs.
For those signs that require a Zoning Development Permit (ZDP), it is necessary to complete and submit a sign permit application to the City of Woodland Park and have it approved prior to installing the sign. In some cases, there may be structural elements of a sign (such as in a free-standing and/or a lighted sign) where a Building Permit or an Electrical Permit may also be required. Please call the Planning and Building Department at 719-687-5202 to inquire about this possibility.

This is a 2-step process - the first step is to complete the 2021 Multi-Use ZDP Application (PDF) and submit to the Planning and Building Department. We have hard-copies available at City Hall as well. This will be reviewed for conformance to setback requirements in your zoning district.
The second step is to submit your construction drawings to the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department. This can be done by submitting your plans to the Woodland Park Planning and Building Department at City Hall for routing down to Pikes Peak Regional Building Department (PPRBD), or you can submit directly to PPRBD to expedite the process. They are located at 2880 International Circle in Colorado Springs. You can always call PPRBD at 719-327-2880 if you have any questions regarding this process.

Perhaps the most important thing to remember about 911 is when to use it. It is not meant to be used to contact the Police Department about routine matters. 911 is to be used solely to report emergencies.
An emergency is when immediate Police, Fire Department or Paramedic assistance is absolutely necessary to protect life or property.
We have a limited number of incoming 911 lines for the entire city. One major incident (such as a large fire or major traffic accident) will cause numerous lines to ring. Those lines get tied up quickly. If we are taking your non-emergent call on the 911 emergency line, real emergency callers may be forced to wait before we can get help to them.
We recommend that you program the 10-digit non-emergency number, 719-687-9262, into your cellular phone for quick use. However, if your call in an emergency, please dial 911. The 911 system is an emergency network that has an enhanced design, making it possible for dispatchers answering the phone to receive the address and phone number of the phone making the 911 call. This information is useful when attempting to verify an emergency or the location of a caller who needs help.
Peak Alerts are notifications sent through software called Everbridge, by public safety agencies in El Paso and Teller Counties. Peak Alerts notify you of emergency situations that are a threat to life or property and are deemed dangerous by public safety officials. Examples of emergency situations may include but is not limited to, natural or man-made disasters, hazardous materials incidents, missing persons, law enforcement activity impacting the public, evacuation notices, and more.
Peak Alerts notify you of emergencies that happen near your registered address(es) or current location (if you are using the Everbridge app). To sign-up for these alerts, you must create an account with your contact information to include your address and at least one contact method. The information you provide is protected and will not be used for any other purpose. You choose how you want to receive these messages. Messages can be sent via text, phone call, email, mobile app, fax, and more. When you confirm receipt of a message, the system will stop attempting to contact you. If you do not confirm the message, the system will continue to attempt to reach your other registered contact methods.
When we issue a notification about a potential safety hazard or concern, you will receive a message on the voice or text communication methods that you have registered. If requested for the notification, you can confirm that you have received the message and you will not be contacted by any subsequent methods regarding that particular notification. If you do not confirm, the system will continue to attempt to reach you at all of the contact paths that you have registered.

Woodland Park Police Department is a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Authorized Collector and there is a green Drug Take-Back bin located in our lobby between the two main entry doors. We recommend removing patient and doctor information from containers before placing them in the bin.

Yes, North East Teller Fire Department (NETCO) can be reached at 719-687-1866 and the Ute Pass Ambulance Service can be reached at 719-687-2291; however, for any emergency you should always call 911.
Teller County Animal Control handles all domestic animal related concerns. They are available between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm and can be reached at 719-687-5692.

Any traffic accident that did not occur on private property is uploaded to LexisNexis Police Reports, and can be accessed online by submitting the appropriate information.

A VIN inspection is an examination of your vehicle identification number. It is usually done at the request of the Department of Motor Vehicles for out of state titles that are being registered in the state of Colorado.
VIN inspections are available at the Police Department without an appointment, but occasionally we may have to turn you away due to high call volume.
In order to do the inspection we will need the vehicle, title or previous registration (something with the VIN clearly printed on it), your ID and payment (PDF) ($20 in cash or check).

Yes, you will need to be fingerprinted again, even if you have been fingerprinted in the past. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation does not keep fingerprints on file for multiple uses.
The City generally begins repairing potholes in late spring after the spring thaw. The City is not responsible for potholes on private property, such as grocery stores, churches, professional buildings, etc.

The City begins street sweeping in late spring after all the snow melts. The streets are swept as needed, before City parades and street events, and when excess sand is reported. Please give the sweeper plenty of distance because it does throw debris.
The City clears snow from sidewalks that are routes to schools, as well as those associated with City parks, buildings, and grounds. The City does not clear snow from private property.
The City starts plowing when snow accumulation reaches 4 inches.
First priority routes are main streets (emergency access) and school access routes. Second priority routes include side streets and sidewalks. Third priority routes are alleys, cul-de-sacs, parking lots, and trails. Finally, plows continue slushing, sanding, and applying ice slicer.
Please shovel or plow the snow from your driveway to the SIDE of your driveway onto your yard, NOT into the City street. In accordance with Colorado State law and City municipal code, it is unlawful to push snow into City right-of-way. Additionally, the City is not responsible for clearing the windrow left by plows at the end of your driveway along the street. We suggest clearing your driveway AFTER the plow goes through. Please refer to the City’s Snowplow Policy for more information.
Teen Court is a unique justice program for first time offenders of misdemeanor crimes. It is designed to give youth between the ages of 11 and 18 who have broken the law and admitted their guilt, a second chance.
Teen Court is based on the philosophy that a youthful violator is more profoundly impacted when a peer jury decides his or her punishment. The ideal outcome is that young people take responsibility for their actions, provide restitution to the victim and community, and give both the juvenile offender and community an active role in solving juvenile crime.
There are approximately 1,800 Youth Courts on 5 continents. The Woodland Park Teen Court was founded in 1994.
Teen Court is the sentencing forum for young first time offenders who have been referred by the Municipal Court and desire a six month deferred prosecution. The jury, consisting of teens, does not decide innocence or guilt: it assesses sentences. The youthful offender who goes before the teen panel, must plead guilty along with parental or guardian consent. Following teen court sentencing, the offender must complete all elements of his or her sentence successfully prior to dismissal of the original charge with no conviction.
School administrators and teachers are asked to nominate teens for participation in Teen Court. Teens may also nominate themselves. Parents/guardians must consent to the teens’ participation. Mandatory training sessions are held each semester for all interested teens. Teens appointed as attorneys are assigned an adult attorney mentor to assist them in trial preparation. Previously sentenced teens are added to the peer jury pool.
Sentences imposed by teen juries must include community service and participation in future Teen Court sessions as jurors. Sentences may also include restitution to the victim, letters of apology, remedial classes (theft, alcohol education, etc.) and essays. Sentencing is intended to be constructive, and to involve the defendant actively in the community as well as in future Teen Court sessions.

All wastewater discharged to the municipal sewer system is treated at the City’s treatment facility located along Highway 67 at the north and of the golf course. Treated wastewater is discharged to Trout Creek, a tributary of the South Platte River.
When available, compost is still given free to City wastewater customers and it makes an excellent soil amendment. The City’s compost consistently meets Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and State Health regulations for unrestricted use, but the City recommends against using it for vegetable gardens.
